A Model of Services for Young Handicapped Children
Janis A. Jelinek
This paper describes a model of services for children whose primary handicap was a communication disorder as well as children for whom a communication disorder was a related problem. Effectiveness data for this model program are presented. Subjects included 38 children, age 330 months, who displayed relatively moderate to severe handicaps. Data indicated that the model was effective in producing child growth (p < .01) in receptive and expressive language, as well as other developmental areas.
