Special Interest Division Affiliation

ASHA Members

The opportunity to join a Special Interest Division is a value-added benefit of ASHA membership. Subscription to Perspectives, the division publication, is free to division affiliates. Information about individual divisions and division benefits and fees can be found on the ASHA Web site.

Access to full-text content of Perspectives is provided through a HighWire account. Once an individual has joined a division, an account is created. The affiliate then activates the account online to gain full-text access.

Nonmembers

Division affiliation is open to individuals who are not ASHA members; information on membership categories can be found on the ASHA Web site.

Only individuals can join a special interest division (there are no organizational/institutional memberships).

Cost of Subscriptions

The cost for subscription to Perspectives varies by division. Organizational/institutional rates are available. Archives are also available for purchase. The order form shows subscription costs.

Note that subscription to Perspectives on Audiology is not an independent publication. Access to this publication is included with subscription to any one of the four divisions devoted exclusively to audiology issues.

Terms

All current subscriptions to Perspectives include:

3 years of online content, defined as the current year plus the previous 2 years (i.e., a 2008 subscription includes 2007 and 2006 online content).
ongoing, perpetual access to this online content regardless of whether a subscription is renewed in subsequent years.
complimentary subscription to Perspectives on Audiology for any subscription to Perspectives published by any one of the four audiology-focused divisions (Divisions 6, 7, 8, and 9).

The Online Archive is defined as back issues of Perspectives.

The archive contains online content from 1997 up to 3 years prior to the current subscription. For example, an Online Archive purchased in 2008 contains content from 1997 through 2005.
The archive is a one-time purchase that gives the customer perpetual access to the above content.
In addition, because the archive is a one-time purchase, the customer will be given access to an additional year of content, at no additional cost, as the archive grows each year.
A current subscription is not required to gain access to the archive once it is purchased. In other words, you may purchase the Online Archive as a stand-alone product. Each year, an additional year's worth of content will be added to the archive, at no cost.
A complimentary subscription to the archive for Perspectives on Audiology is included for any subscription to an archive of Perspectives published by any one of the four audiology-focused divisions (Divisions 6, 7, 8, and 9).
